A few weeks ago we ordained and installed a new class of ruling elders and deacons who have committed to serving the Lord and his people in these positions. 1 Timothy 3:1 reminds us that those who take on this challenge set their hearts on a “noble task.” Leadership is not easy. It involves looking ahead, sensing the direction a group should go and then convincing and cheering people on to go in that direction. If you want a reminder of the difficulties found in leading God’s people, look no further than Exodus, Numbers and Deuteronomy and Moses’ struggles to lead God’s people into the Promised Land.

Snow on My Mind
February 5
Snow has been on my mind a lot lately. It has also been on my car, in my yard, on my driveway, and in my shoes. Really it’s been just about everywhere, and did you know that Rt. 251 now runs through a deep canyon of snow in many places?
