The Mobile Chapel
You can see the Mobile Chapel out by the Petro. Very worth seeing! My very dear friend, Pastor Jay LeRette, has an outstanding ministry to a wide variety of truckers – and others – who need to know Jesus Christ and His healing, saving power.
But you can also see the Mobile Chapel somewhere else. Even closer to home! Just look in a mirror!
That’s right! If you’ve invited Jesus Christ into your life, He’s there! Taking up residence in the deepest places of who you are: “Christ in you, the Hope of Glory!” (Colossians 1:27). That makes you a Mobile Chapel! A chapel, after all, is considered a place where God dwells! Not buildings, really: but living, breathing people!
There’s a great advantage in being a Mobile Chapel! Don’t get me wrong, we’re very grateful for the building in which our church gathers. But if God just dwells in a place made of brick and concrete, He’s stuck in one place. But if you are the Chapel, then the Lord goes with you wherever you go: to the gas station, City Hall, your office, your garage, your work, your fun activities: everywhere! Moses had the idea: he said to the Lord, “if Your Presence does not go with us, then do not take us up from here…” (Exodus 33:15). He knew that unless the Lord was with him all the time, it wouldn’t be worth it.
But fortunately, Jesus promises us that He will be with us always. He will live in you, filling you with His love, leading you by His voice, strengthening you with His power, and transforming you with His grace! And because you are Mobile, you can worship Jesus everywhere – and every when – you go! So do that! Enjoy and love Him always! Seek Him, turn to Him inside, for everything.
But don’t let that be a reason to miss worship together! Every Sunday at 9 and 11, all you Mobile Chapels are passionately invited to come to First Pres and park! How we need the encouragement of each other! We are more together than we ever could be separately!
Much love in Christ,
Jim Tilley
