His Personality is the Key

Yes, it most certainly is! The key: the key to everything. We’re talking about Jesus’ personality, of course. The biblical and real one: often hidden under many layers of what one of my favorite authors, John Eldredge, calls “religious fog”: the vapors that seek to shroud Jesus’ passionate, hilarious, intense, shocking, wonderfully outrageous personality – a cloud that obscures just how amazing, how throbbingly life-creating, He truly is!

Stepping Up
June 13
Our much-loved Bruce Anderson (fondly known as “coach” to many speedy young people!) called me recently with a request I agreed to without a moment’s hesitation: would I go with him to the bedside of his sister-in-law’s dying father? Another daughter of this dear man had an even more specific plea: would we bring communion to him and his family? Well, even less hesitation about that on my part. What a privilege… The family mentioned that perhaps we could share in this together sometime in the week. Experience echoed what I heard from the Lord: “Do it now”.
