And so it was, twenty years ago, that our Teek Koritz strapped himself into an F15 Strike Eagle fighter-bomber to show the bad guys that there are still heroes in America - and that there are people who had a problem with a mighty nation just overrunning a helpless one. I never got any sense from anything the family shared, that Teek ever had a moment of hesitation about soaring off into those deadly skies. His mind was on the call. And he rose to the call without fear, without a second thought. From everything I can tell, if somehow before that flight he knew that he was not going to come back, I think he would have gone anyway. There’s a word for that. The word is “hero”.
