As we continue during this Lenten season we are using the devotional Seek God for the City 2012. This week’s theme is praying for the reconciliation of every people. Quoting from the devotional: “During this final week we will be praying that God will bring measurable healing to relationships between the peoples of the world. We’ll pray that God will dramatically and swiftly move to heal the racism and prejudice we see in our own cities, as well as in the wars that simmer in places devastated by interracial strife.”

It begins with a quote from Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me … the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners…”
