As we begin this New Year I was thinking of the image of the Roman god Janus – for which January is named – a god of new beginnings and transitions. This is a two-faced god with one looking forward and one looking back. As we look back this has been an interesting and challenging year both for the church and myself. We have accomplished much in the transition from one pastor to the next full-time pastor and I have enjoyed being a part of the process.
