Small Groups

The Small Groups of First Presbyterian Church are open to anyone – from any church, or no church!  Are you looking for a safe, supportive place to share and explore your needs, concerns, and hopes?  We’re here for you!  Our small groups are committed to unconditional love and complete confidentiality: “what’s said here stays here”!

People come to small groups with all kinds of questions:  “Do other people struggle with what I do?  Can I find a greater sense of love, peace, and hope in my life?   Or am I stuck like this?   What does God have to do with it all?   Does prayer really make any difference?  Is Christianity boring, or is there more to it all than I thought?”.   No questions are out of bounds!  In small groups we seek answers as we study the scriptures, listen to one another, laugh and cry together, and pray for one another.  We would love to include you on this journey!  For meeting times and group topics contact Rev. Dr. Jim Tilley, 562-7053.

“Discipleship In Depth”

Mondays - 6:30 p.m.

Led by Jim Tilley

Do you yearn for “more” in your relationship with Jesus?  What would it be like to experience His love, and His transforming power, in your life more thoroughly than ever before?  Like all our small groups, this one will be grace-based and shame free (!), yet will encourage us to grapple with valuable discipleship issues such as, “What is growing in my relationship with God?  What seems to be stuck?  What is God doing these days in my life, anyway?  Where do I need to get set free & grow in knowing Christ?  Where do I need to dig deeper into His Word?  Where is my life with Him going?"

“Widows/Widowers Grief Group”

Mondays, 9:30 a.m.

Led by Jim Tilley

This is a group that will help members walk together in Jesus’ healing for the grief of the loss of a spouse.  Whether your grief is recent or years long, let’s come together, listen, care, go to scripture, and pray for each other.

REVIVE ROCHELLE

Small Groups

Beginning the week of September 3, we will be offering small groups that will follow the sermons of Revive Rochelle through the month of September.  These will start off as simply four-week introductory groups.  These are the groups we have as of press time; the pot is stirring and we hope to offer several more.  We will be excited to encourage people to join a group led by someone from a different congregation - in order to build bridges and make new friendships across denominational lines.  A simple study guide will be provided.  No advance sign-up required - just bring a Bible and come!
